Making me loud and proud - 1980-f

It is always a brilliant feeling when you hear someone perform your music! I love this exuberant performance, the conductor keeping it vigorous and everyone having a ball, lovely...

Just in case you're wondering, this is what the original sounded like, 1980-f from After The Fire.

Love it! What's the story behind the title Peter?

Thanks Juliet, could just see them playing at the Regatta ;-)

Cheers Mike. We were looking for a song title for the turn of the decade into 1980 as that was the planned release date for the album. Then I had the idea of a play on the initials of the band, ATF, making it a tad cryptic into 80F (eighty F) and then the leap to 1980-f simply happened!

Best, PB

It's was more than a TV program in Germany - check it out....

I lived with a German Girl once who's pricked up when she heard me playing this. She said it from a German TV show that was a national icon.

You really need to have this as a backing band at GB.

Could you keep up with them, Peter?
Had you also seen the ATF choir warm up which I recently posted on the FB page. It's also worth a look in :-)

Haven't heard a version of this song yet that I don't love. One of your best Peter!

Hi peter, we are very proud to find a place in your blog. We love this song. And we, also the audience, have a lot of fun with it, each time we´re performing it. The biggest honor for us is your sympathy in our version.
Lovely greets from Völklingen/Germany. The boys and girls from the band "gugge mol" (a saarland dialect, means "look at this").

Greetings Steffi and thanks for commenting on my blog, good to hear from you! Yes, I love your version of 1980-f and so pleased the band and audience do too. I did e-mail to ask if it was on your CD as I would like to buy one?

Vielen Dank, PBx
